Full lips have always been in style. At Spade, we treat our customers daily. One option that is currently trending is lip flip. That can be accomplished with Botox, Xeomin and Dysport. The outcome, if done correctly, is identical. The procedure rolls the upper lip ever-so-slightly outward which results in fuller lips. The injector must be both experienced and cautious to create a perfect effect.
If you are happy with your upper lip size but it disappears when you smile, lip flip is maybe the right option for you. In some cases, this procedure may impact your lip functions and change the way you speak. Fear not, if you are not happy with the results, give it three months for the effects to wear off.
Should I use Lip Flip or Lip Filler?
If you have fuller and more beautiful lips, you should seriously consider lip fillers and not lip flip. Fillers are more versatile and more flexible and using lip fillers does not equate to overblown results. The recent lip filler (Kysse by Galderma) is found to be super natural and smooth on lips.
We perform both lip flip and lip filler procedures. We have patients who are better suited for one treatment or the other, or both. Our provider considers your natural lip anatomy, your desired outcome, and your personal preferences when deciding which option(s) is the best lip enhancement option for you.
If you like a subtly more prominent “pout” to your lips, you feel your upper lip looks invisible when you smile, you want fuller-looking lips but do not want additional volume or you want a more temporary treatment (3-4 months), lip flip is the best option for you.
For additional volume in the upper and/or lower lip, to address more severe vertical lip lines, to improve overall lip shape and symmetry, longer-lasting lip enhancement you should consider fillers. In some cases, the best solution for a patient is to combine Botox with fillers. People with thin lip can benefit from both.
